Day 1: Pickup from JKIA & Transfer to Nakuru
Our Kenya itinerary 6 day tour begins with your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where you will find our driver | guide earnestly awaiting you. We recommend that you take a flight that arrives in Kenya before noon. That way, we get to welcome and start the safari right away.
After introductions and welcoming you to Kenya, you shall embark on the most amazing Kenya itinerary 6-day tour. You will start with a scenic journey to Nakuru aboard a comfortable 4×4 Land Cruiser.
On the way, your driver shall point out and explain various attractions, such as the Great Rift Valley. To appreciate the magnitude of this enormous gorge, a stop at the Rift Valley point will be in order.
The Rift Valley is a deep intra- continental gorge from Lebanon in the Middle East, right through North and East Africa, down to Mozambique. Its deepest point is a whopping 3 miles deep!
While at the viewpoint, you can peek at the vast crater below and may also check out some of the handicrafts made by skilled traditional artisans at nearby shops. You shall proceed to Nakuru town, where you may pick up some personal items and check in at the hotel for some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
Hint: The trip from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru shall start in the afternoon for group tours. Those who catch a flight that lands in the morning get an optional Giraffe Center visit for USD 30 per person.
Day 2. Game Drive in Lake Nakuru National Park and Transfer to Lake Naivasha
The second day of your 6 days in Kenya shall be mostly comprised of game drives. You
shall begin early after a hearty breakfast, followed by a morning game drive at Lake Nakuru.
You can expect to see flocks of flamingos at the lake, as well as a myriad of animals such as hippos, rhinos, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes, and more. Lake Nakuru also has a landed portion with plenty of zebra, lion, cheetah, monkey, giraffe, warthogs, baboons, and wildebeest.
Our game drive shall be punctuated by a picnic lunch at the heart of the park, followed by an afternoon game drive around the rest. The game drives end at around 4:00 pm, after which we transfer you to Naivasha.
Day 3. Walking Safaris and Bike Rides in Hell’s Gate National Park
Today, you shall take breakfast and head out for a full day at Hells Gate National park in Naivasha. It is a place with few animals and wide open grasslands. You will enjoy walking alongside the few zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests here.
Enjoy taking stunning photos with a giraffe or zebra behind you in the wild. We shall also take you on a tour of the gorges at the park, which has been a natural attraction for visitors for decades.
Your day in Hell’s gate national park will see you take photos you will remember forever. It is the only park in Kenya where you can get out of the safari land cruiser or safari van and walk or ride a bike. It is also one of the most scenic parks in Kenya.
Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara & Cultural Tour
Today, the climax of your 6 days in Kenya starts with a visit to the Masai Mara. On the morning of the fourth day, we plan on traveling to the Mara from Naivasha, a road trip of approximately 4-5 hours.
If all goes well, we shall have you checked in at the hotel around noon, after which our driver shall leave you for two hours to rest and get acclimated to the place. He shall take you on a cultural tour in the afternoon, including a Masai village visit.
The Masai Mara is named after the Masai people, who have called the place home for years. They are nomads who coexist with the most savage of beasts within the park and whose culture has resisted western influence for centuries.
You will enjoy interacting with them and learning about their culture and way of life. You will also jump and dance, and learn why they drink blood, why the women are the ones who built huts, and how they make fire without matchboxes.
Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara with Packed Lunch
Today, the plan is a full-day game drive around the impressive and award-winning Masai Mara game reserve. Should you travel between July and October, the Masai Mara has a special treat for you, the annual wildebeest migration.
It is one of the most breathtaking natural phenomena in the world. Your day shall begin after breakfast, with our guide picking you up from the hotel for the game drive.
He shall come fully loaded with a packed picnic lunch to ensure there are no disruptions to the fun day that is about to unfold. During the game drive, you will see the Big Five, Big Cats, and many other impressive wildlife species.
The Mara is home to more than 90 animal species, and this will be a perfect opportunity for you to witness them up close.
Day 6: Transfer from Masai Mara to Nairobi – JKIA
